Introduction
As the practice of teaching and learning becomes more and more evidence-based, teachers and other stakeholders involved in the process of education are being encouraged to contribute to the ever-growing field of educational research. Getting involved in educational research, however, poses certain concerns to the stakeholders of the education process. This is because the nature of educational research comes with special considerations and covers areas more than just what is seen in classrooms. Getting acquainted with these peculiarities and the scope that it has would be the best first step to do. In this presentation, Finding Your Niche in Educational Research, the special considerations, pertinent issues, and areas of inquiry in educational research would be tackled.
Objectives
At the end of this lecture, the participants would be able to explain why and how educational research should be pursued, and if possible, determine the area/s that they could start an inquiry from.
